How many others are there? I thought. People, things, seen and then forgotten, leaving nothing behind them, not even the knowledge that they're missing.

USA (The Wild West) 1888 - Mary (McCormack) is the sleepy western town’s snarky brothel madame - a former bank robber who has made a countless number of enemies from which she has to hide. Gun-savy and foul-mouthed, she nonetheless runs a successful business - until the town’s preacher makes it his life’s task to make hers miserable.
When things escalate, a mysterious stranger on horseback comes to her rescue, who later, disguise discarded, reveals herself to be Allison (Janney), Mary’s former partner whom she believed dead.
The joy of their reunion, however, does not last long, but their minds are made up - either escape or go down in flames.
